These are the eleven teams that will be on the Formula One grid, in the year 2026
There are 11 teams getting ready to race in 2026. Cadillac is joining the teams for the first time. They will be on the track, with the 10 teams we already know. Here is what we know about the teams that will be racing when the season starts.
MCLAREN
McLaren is back for their season, in Formula 1. They are the reigning Teams Champions. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri are team mates again. This is their season together. Andrea Stella is still the Team Principal of McLaren. McLaren has a lot of experience in Formula 1.
The McLaren team from Woking is really famous, in the sport. McLaren was started by Bruce McLaren. The McLaren team first competed in 1966. Since then the McLaren team has had a lot of success. They have won 203 races. The McLaren team has also won 13 Drivers Championships and 10 Teams Championships.
McLaren will be looking to keep doing in 2026. They want to win the Teams title, for the year in a row. This is something they have not done since 1990. McLaren is trying to make this happen. At the time Norris is getting ready to defend his Drivers title. Norris won the Drivers title for the time and he wants to win it again. McLaren wants to win the Teams title. Norris wants to win the Drivers title.
MERCEDES
Mercedes is a team that has done well in the past. They have the drivers, George Russell and Kimi Antonelli for the 2026 season. The person in charge of Mercedes is still Toto Wolff. He has been the boss of Mercedes since 2013. Mercedes has a lot of faith in George Russell and Kimi Antonelli. Toto Wolff is very important, to the Mercedes team.
The Silver Arrows team bought the Brawn GP team in 2010. The Silver Arrows team then moved to the front of the racing pack. The Silver Arrows team won an eight Teams Championships in a row from 2014, to 2021. The Silver Arrows team also won seven drivers titles. The Silver Arrows team driver Lewis Hamilton won six of these titles. The Silver Arrows team did well during this time.
The team has not done well in the last few years.. They did really well in 2025 when they got a P2. This is a sign that things are getting better for the team. The team is hoping that their P2, in 2025 is the start of something.
RED BULL
This will be the twenty season for Red Bull. It is going to be, in the year 2026. Red Bull will have a driver pairing for this season. They will have drivers working together for Red Bull.
Sebastian Vettel won championships from 2010 to 2013. Then Max Verstappen did the thing. Max Verstappen won four Drivers titles from 2021 to 2024. Max Verstappen is from the Netherlands. Max Verstappen did not win in 2025. Lando Norris, from McLaren won that year. Now people are wondering if Max Verstappen can win again this time.
Max Verstappen will have a teammate Isack Hadjar, who is moving from Racing Bulls to join Max Verstappen. Isack Hadjar is from France. He is taking the place of Yuki Tsunoda. Now Laurent Mekies is in charge of the team, as the Team Principal. This is the time Laurent Mekies is doing this job. He got the job summer.
FERRARI
Ferrari is a name that everybody knows. They are the team that has been in every single Formula 1 season. This has been going on since the championship started in 1950. Ferrari has been around, for a long time and they are still competing in Formula 1.
The Scuderia Ferrari team has won a lot of championships. They have gotten 15 Drivers Championships and 16 teams titles, over the years. But the time the Scuderia Ferrari team won these was a long time ago the Scuderia Ferrari team won the Drivers Championship in 2007 and the teams title in 2008.
Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton will still be driving for the team. They have Fred Vasseur as the Team Principal. This is, for the 2026 season. The team really wants to do in 2026. They did not do well in 2025. They did not win any Grand Prix. The team ended up in place in the Teams standings for 2025. Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton will try to help the team do better.
WILLIAMS
Williams are coming back after a good 2025 season. They did well and got a safe fifth place in the Teams Championship. They also got two podiums. That was because of Carlos Sainz. He did a job and helped Williams get those podiums.
The team that is based at The Grove has been led by James Vowles since 2023. They are very used to being successful. The Grove team has won seven drivers titles and nine teams titles in Formula 1, over the years.
The fortunes of Williams took a dip during the 2010s. Williams will be hoping that their strong outing season helps them. The fact that they have a line-up of Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon is a good thing. This will help Williams to take another step in 2026. Williams really needs this to happen. The team Williams is counting on Williams to do well.
RACING BULLS
Racing Bulls is another team that will have a different line-up for 2026. The Racing Bulls team, which is connected to Red Bull is getting ready to have the new driver, on the track this year.
Red Bull bought the Minardi team in 2006. The team has had a different names since then like Toro Rosso, AlphaTauri and RB. They will be called Racing Bulls starting in 2025. Red Bull has won two races with the help of drivers, like Sebastian Vettel and Pierre Gasly. Red Bull has been doing well over the years.
Liam Lawson is still with the team. He is joined by Arvid Lindblad in 2026. Arvid Lindblad is 18 years old. He is moving up to this team because he did well in the 2025 Formula 2 Championship. He came in place. Alan Permane is still the Team Principal. He became the Team Principal summer when he was promoted from his old job, as Racing Director. Liam Lawson and the team will have him to lead them.
ASTON MARTIN
Aston Martin is a team that wants to do in 2026. They finished the 2025 season in place and Aston Martin will be hoping to improve on that. Aston Martin had a good season last year and now Aston Martin is looking to move up the ranks.
The fortunes of the Racing Point team have been up and down since they changed their name in 2021. They had some results, like the podiums they got in 2023.. The years after that were not so good, for the Racing Point team. The Racing Point team had to deal with some times.
Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll are still driving together in 2026. This is their year as team mates. Something big happened at the end of 2025. Adrian Newey is going to be the Team Principal for the season. Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll will have to work with him. Adrian Newey is a deal and this is a big change, for Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll.
HAAS
The Haas team is getting ready for their year in Formula 1. This will happen in 2026. Haas is the team in Formula 1 if we do not count the team that joined this year. We will talk about the team later. The Haas team has been in Formula 1, for a time and now they are going to start their 11th season.
The American team has taken part in 214 Grands Prix far. Their best finish in a race is place. This record was made by Romain Grosjean. Ollie Bearman also finished fourth at the 2025 Mexico City Grand Prix. So the American team and their drivers, including Romain Grosjean and Ollie Bearman have not had a finish better, than place in the Grands Prix.
Bearman is, with Esteban Ocon again this season. The team Haas is led by Team Principal Ayao Komatsu. They want to do after they finished eighth last time. Bearman and Esteban Ocon will work together to make Haas better.
AUDI
The old Kick Sauber team is going to have a name in 2026. This is because the team is now working directly with Audi. This change is happening at the time as some new rules are being introduced to the sport. The Kick Sauber team will be known as Audis team from, on.
Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto are team mates for the season now. They were team mates year too. Nico Hulkenberg had a moment, at Silverstone when he got his first podium. Jonathan Wheatley is the Team Principal of Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto. He started working with them year.
Kick Sauber finished the 2025 Teams Championship in place. What will happen to Kick Sauber in the future? Kick Sauber is now called Audi. Can Audi make things better, in the campaign?
ALPINE
Alpine, which used to be called Renault had a tough time in the 2025 season. The Alpine team ended the year in place and they were behind their rivals, by a lot of points.
The squad has taken one victory and six podiums under the Alpine name. The Alpine team has done well. Two of these podiums were scored by Pierre Gasly. Pierre Gasly is set to start his season with the Alpine team.
Gasly will have Franco Colapinto as his team mate again. This season is going to be different for the team. They will not make their engines anymore. Instead they will use Mercedes engines. Gasly and his team will have to get used to this change. Steve Nielsen is still the Managing Director. He got this job in 2025. He is still, in charge.
CADILLAC
A new team is going to join the Formula 1 grid in 2026. This team is Cadillac. They are getting ready for their first season, in Formula 1. Cadillac will be the new Formula 1 team since Haas started racing in 2016. Cadillac is really excited to be a part of Formula 1.
Team Principal Graeme Lowdon has said that the American team really wants drivers with experience. They want people who know what they are doing. Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez are coming back to drive for a team after taking a year off. The American team thinks that Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez will be choices because they have experience. The American team is looking for drivers, like Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez.
While General Motors and TWG Motorsports are building a power unit facility that will make Cadillac a full-works operation in the future, Ferrari are set to supply the team’s engine and gearbox in 2026.
