Money Laundering Illegal Clinic Case

On Wednesday, a Special Court (Central) decided to extend the interim bail for TikToker Dr. Fazeela Abbasi, who is involved in a money laundering and illegal clinic case. The court also instructed her to participate in the investigation, as the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) submitted a challan related to one of the cases.

The hearing took place with Special Judge Central Humayun Dilawar presiding, and Dr. Fazeela Abbasi was present alongside her lawyer, Naeem Bukhari. During the session, the prosecution informed the court that they had received a written response from Dr. Fazeela Abbasi, indicating that she hadn’t personally appeared before the investigators.

At this point, Dr. Fazeela Abbasi spoke up, asserting that she had indeed shown up multiple times. However, her lawyer quickly advised her to hold off on speaking, reminding her that all legal matters should go through him. “I’m your lawyer here; please don’t address the judge directly,” Bukhari told her in front of the court.

Bukhari went on to argue that the trial court had previously dismissed the bail petition based on claims of misuse of concession, a decision that was later overturned by the Islamabad High Court (IHC). He emphasized that the high court had clearly stated there was no misuse of bail by his client.

In response to these arguments, Judge Dilawar pointed out that the IHC hadn’t commented on the merits of the case but had instructed the trial court to resolve the bail issue and ensure the accused cooperates with the investigation. The judge also mentioned that the interim bail had already been in place for almost three months.

The court then directed Dr. Fazeela Abbasi to fully engage with the investigation process and extended her interim bail. The case was adjourned until April 20 for further proceedings.

During the hearing, Dr. Fazeela Abbasi also submitted a request to restore a joint bank account she shares with Hamza Ali Abbasi, which had been frozen by the FIA as part of their investigation into the alleged money laundering. The court accepted the application for consideration.

In a notable turn of events, the FIA has filed a challan in the money laundering case, which is a key step in the ongoing investigation. Officials have revealed that two distinct cases have been opened against Dr. Fazeela Abbasi—one focusing on alleged financial misconduct and the other related to the operation of an unauthorized clinic. The court is set to address both issues at the next hearing, including the confirmation of bail and the request to restore the bank account.

Extension In Interim Bail In Illegal Clinic Case

Special Judge Central Humayun Dilawar has granted an extension for interim pre-arrest bail to TikToker and dermatologist Fazeela Abbasi, who is involved in a case regarding an allegedly illegal clinic. The judge advised her to participate in the investigation. During the court session, Fazeela Abbasi showed up with her lawyer, Naeem Bukhari, and submitted a pre-arrest bail application. The court approved her interim bail, requiring surety bonds of Rs 50,000, and instructed her to cooperate with the investigators. The case has been postponed until May 5 for further proceedings.

Officials have reported that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has filed two cases against Abbasi related to the suspected operation of an illegal clinic. Additionally, she is currently out on bail for a separate money laundering case. Previously, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) reinstated Dr. Abbasi’s interim bail in the money laundering matter and advised her to return to the trial court for the next steps.

This latest development came after the special judge central dismissed her pre-arrest bail request due to her absence. In a written ruling, the judge noted that Abbasi did not appear for the hearing, rejecting her request for exemption on medical grounds, which he deemed a misuse of the pre-arrest bail privilege. After this dismissal, Abbasi turned to the IHC, which provided her with interim relief and permitted her to seek recourse in the trial court.
